The media got the first photos of Trayvon from his memorial service. Including the red Hollister shirt photo taken within a year of his death. Trayvon is 16 in that photo.

What are your thoughts on this. If this is the pic that was used would it have made a difference in peoples opinion of Z & T?

People are now using this pic that just came out to try and "prove" Z did not shoot T because of his race. Thoughts?

You didn't post a pic of George in his orange jumpsuit here. You posted a fake pic of Trayvon next to an innocent looking George.
The pix don't have any bearing for most people. Opinions were formed by the facts reported.

No, the orange jump suit pic is the one the media used, along side the pic of T standing there in his footbal uniform. That is the pic I am talking about.
OK user, since you seam to be lost on this I will try to simplify it for you.

If a pic like I posted would have ben used by the media instead of the one they did, would it have made a difference in peoples opinion on this case?

Forget for a second that you are hung up on the pic I posted allegedly being not actually of T and just concentrate on that simple question.

Actually I feel the pic did effect peoples opinion.
That was the pic we all looked at as the media reported the story [and I use the term reported loosely]. We were told a tale of a poor little innocent black kid being hunted down and shot by a big bad white wanna be cop.
The pic they chose of both supported the tale they were telling.

That would be the question, the facts. The media cannot possibly know the facts, yet they reported something. As it appears what they did report was designed to influence public opinion.
The entire crime is based on racial tension and profiling from both Zimmerman and the media and the community. But in a courtroom that should not matter, only the facts should, race has no bearing or at least it should not have any if the judge is any good.

I'm not stupid, asshole. You can't post a fake pic of someone and I'll nod and say that pic is indicative of that person's moral compass. If you agree with that mentality, all bikers with tattoos are hoodlums.

Now that made me actually LOL!

I did not say you were stupid I said you were lost and I wear the badge of asshole proudly. So thank you. But you seam to be hung up on the pic instead of the question.

Oh and by the way I find it amusing that you would assume that just because I am a biker that I have tattoos, but once again you would be wrong. I dont have one single ink on me.
Who the fuck cares what the media does. I've seen photos of George in high school cooking pizza. Pansy ass must have taken home ec.

And, like I said, the media got the photos from Trayvon's memorial service. There was never some big conspiracy within MSM to make Trayvon appear to be anything other than what he was.

Besides if ya'll are so stupid as to believe everything you see on TEE VEE, then bless your hearts. Bunch of dumbasses just like George.

Hahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahaha.
I think I am one of the few that still have not formed a opimion. I also has stated all along that I believe nothing that comes out of the media. I want to see the FACTS.
This would have ben a much more neutral pic.

The judge is very good. And, I agree.

I've seen at least 5 different photos used of Zimmerman in the media, and I've seen the recent picture of Martin in a grey knit cap as often as I've seen the photos of him from a couple of years prior to his death.

I've read news reports that leaned towards Zimmerman being in the right, Zimmerman being in the wrong, and some reports that stood straight up and just reported facts.

Some of the photos, news reports, and on-line communications undoubtedly influenced some members of the jury pool into forming an unwavering opinion regarding guilt or innocence. That's one of the reasons there was potential juror questioning specific to media exposure only, before traditional voir doire began. Those from the pool that made it on to the jury were deemed by both sides to be qualified to render a verdict based on the evidence and testimony at trial.

None of the old photos or media leanings will have an impact on whether George Zimmerman walks free or goes to prison. IMO.

See?

This is what happens with stereotypes.

Some people might have been influenced by the different pictures of Trayvon or George, but not me.

Count me with you, too.

If the LAW was broken then hold the spic accountable.

If it wasn't . . . just add the dead nigger kid to Chicago's total and let the media make a fucking stink over dozens of dead spades instead of one.

Oh wait . . . it's niggers killing niggers.

No story in that.

Once proof of a conspiracy was shot to hell no one cared to comment on it. hah

As I get ready to head out the door for work I just wanted to say thanks to everyone in this thread for all the info posted about this trial. I dont get to see or listen to the trial so this thread is my source of news/catching up on this case. Good work all.

And don't think we don't appreciate you dragging old gossip and fake photos (which I've never seen in a news media story) into the mix, along with your undecided and objective viewpoint. Conservative and liberal opinion blogs, internet memes and such aren't "news" media. The news media's not on trial in this case.

You've proven how much shit is out there about Trayvon Martin, and that's not including the release/claim to the media of videos depicting Trayvon's friend beating up homeless people, released on the heels of jury selection, for which O'Mara himself had to apologize when that claim was proven false.

George hasn't been vilified any more than the dead kid from what I've seen.

In any event, Judge Nelson isn't letting unsubstantiated attempts at character assassination of either party into evidence.

Week 2 of trial begins in a couple hours. Looking forward to more on the forensic evidence.
