I hope they don't call you for jury duty.

What if he was really injured? What then? Are you all going to change your opinions?

I bet not.
He may have been injured. Given the chance, i would have punched somebody who was stalking and chasing me too.

Zimmerman told 911 that the kid was trying to get away. What right did he have to chase him down and scare the shit out of the kid?
IDK, user. Why didn't he say, "Hey, who are you?" and Trayvon say, "My family lives here." I don't know why the rest happened.

I DO know why people think young black men/boys (don't you dare call them that, they are only "boys" if the NAACP is involved) with hoodies walking around at night are dangerous. Instead of the black community crying police corruption, they should be crying about letting their fucking kids roam around committing crimes.

They caused this by years of shitty behavior. God forbid they take any part of the blame for how the rest of the country reacts to them.

I expect better of you. All of mankind's wisdom isn't contained in a smilie.

You tell me why the little toad was all freaked out by a black kid. Also tell me why user said Oakland is a dangerous place. Also tell me why I always make somebody else drive their car when we go to ATL at night. Because it is the same answer.

You think those folks are talking about what they can do to change things or do you think they all want Cracker to accept the hoodrat image as one of greatness? Because I work with those folks~it isn't greatness. It is a fucking sad life full of violence and poverty.

So until you pull your pants up and stop stealing from people and killing each other, cry me a fucking river.

Hey, didn't recognize me? That's me shitting on your post.

I think Zimmerman should be paraded out in the streets on a donkey through the most black neighborhood there. Just to show what justice and law that the blacks there adhere to. Lets see if they can control themselves. have a parade with the most reverent Al Sharpton leading it with Jesse Jackson by his side. I want to see the real side of the niggas. I want to know if they believe in American justice. Or will they tear the lungs and balls off this guy by hand. I want to see it. To show the world.
I don't care what stupid niggers do, the point is that poor kid was walking down the street minding his own buisness and that jackass provoked a fight, shot him and claimed self defense. It's been clear from the start, I don't believe for a second the kid approached him.

Yesterday, I was trying to find (but couldn't) a link to an interview I caught on CNN. I thought it would make you happy. It was a black minister (I think he was a minister) saying that the focus on the case is all wrong and that the black community needs to focus their attention where it's needed--black on black violence and the criminal mentality among black youth.

I agree. I think the race issue is sort of an aside in this case (although if he was muttering "fucking coons" that does indicate it might have played a factor in Zimmerman's actions) but the Sharpton rhetoric and all that other stuff is just bullshit.

I don't know what happened in that confrontation between Zimmerman and Trayvon. If Zimmerman calmly asked him what he was doing and Trayvon just hauled off and punched him and started slamming his head in to the concrete, well that's one thing. But that's not how I picture it in my head at this point. Maybe something will come out that will change my mind.
User: a black minister (I think he was a minister)

aren't they all? 30
No. some evidently are criminals, and loud.
LC, would you consider Zimmerman under arrest when he was cuffed and taken in for questioning?

no. i don't know if they mirandized him (i would mirandize a ham sandwich to cover my ass). the way around that is that he was cuffed for officer safety. since he was cut loose and not charged with anything after interview, they still have a fresh slate so to speak to arrest later. if i read the police report correctly he was not under arrest although the officer indicated a possible manslaughter charge. if he had been under arrest, he would have had to go to a first appearance in front of a judge. it was the state attny. who made the call not to arrest/charge at that time.

note: some defense lawyer would likely argue he was defacto under arrest.
I would just think that cuffed and transported to the police department would mean that an arrest had occurred. Individuals are arrested and released, either before booking or before charges are filed. But they have still been arrested.

Okay, that pacified me a little. haha

LC, the ones who aren't ministers are deacons.

I feel badly for that kid, too, but they lost me when they made it about race and injustice.

So much could have been done to avoid the whole mess. 1.) Get off your fat ass and drive your kid to the store, especially at night. Who lets their kids wander around at night? Black people, that's who. haha 2.) If they are suspended, don't even let them go to the store. This wasn't his first brush with bad behavior as he was a drug dealer and all... 3.) Don't lie about what an angel your kid is to make your case, let the case stand on its own merit. Lying may be acceptable to a certain segment of society, but the rest of us don't like that shit. 4.) Don't try to cash in on your kid's death. Black people, WTF?

Who was talking shit to me about my post regarding the making of memorial t-shirts? Yeah, STFU. Cracker knows things.

arrested means charged to me. detained for questioning? yes. i have never arrested someone and let them go before booking!

Cracker - I am with you all the way. But there is one thing that hasn't been mentioned that often on this site. It's the fact that we have seen maybe one RECENT picture of Martin. The rest are several years old, why is that?

Why do they have his grammar school pictures circulating, not his High School pictures circulating?

Meh, that's been hashed over in the media. You forgot to mention that the first shots of Zimmerman were his mug shot from around 7 years ago, I think. Then it flipped and they started showing Zimmerman in a suit and Trayvon with gold teeth. Depends on the villian du jour and the pictures provided to the media. Trayvon's family gave them the older pics; I gather the more recent ones came from classmates and such.
Trayvon was 17 years old. No matter what pictures the media chooses to publish (or how tall he was, or what race he was, etc...), he was an unarmed juvenile who was being pursued by an armed adult who had been advised not to pursue by the 911 dispatcher. The Chief stepped down. A new prosecution team was assigned. Things were mishandled by LE and the State's Attorney's office, imo. One week til the Grand Jury convenes. I hope there is a lot of solid evidence for the jurors to consider and that appropriate action is taken, whatever that may be.
