In the wake of the tidal wave of evidence, the family of Trayvon Martin speaks out.
Many legal experts said they believe this evidence weighs in favor of George Zimmerman’s claim of self-defense.
We found how out how Martin's family is responding to the evidence in the case that was recently released.
"Bottom line, they know how this story ends. It ends with their son being killed,” said Ben Crump, the Martin's family attorney.
Crump said the Martin family has had an emotional 24 hours after seeing the pictures and video included in the evidence.
"She's watching that video knowing in five minutes or so her son is gonna be dead, and you know she is trying to talk to the television on one hand. But you know her son died,” Crump said.
The attorney also responded to the toxicology reports showing Trayvon had THC, the active chemical in marijuana in his system.
"The experts have all said that trace marijuana in Trayvon Martin's system is completely insignificant. In fact, we believe it's an attempt to attack the character of Trayvon Martin,” said Crump.
We also asked Crump how he and the Martin family reacted to some powerful eyewitness testimony in the state’s discovery.
"He made a decision to get out of the car that night in the rain, profile, pursue and confront, then ultimately shoot Trayvon Martin in the heart," Crump said.
Meanwhile, Zimmerman’s attorney Mark O’Mara spoke out on CNN about getting the charges dismissed before a trial, using a self-defense claim.

It’s a defense many legal experts believe is supported by the evidence.
"That has been talked about since day one. It's certainly a possibility. The more facts that I see, the more that’s a possibility. But I had a guess until I see all of the evidence,” said O’Mara.
Martin’s family is hoping for one thing , according to Crump.
"We believe there is certainly evidence that this should be decided by a jury," Crump said.
Crump said he believes the most powerful evidence is the fact the Sanford police said the shooting would have been “avoidable” if Zimmerman stayed in his vehicle that night.

I wish that PD had done a tox screen on Zimmerman that night as well. The fact that they did not was noted and criticized in many of the initial media reports. He may well have been clean, but it would be good to have all of the facts. Can't turn back time, though.
I read this morning that the released evidence specifically doesn't have to include interviews with Zimmerman or confessions.
I'm hoping he confessed.
Based on what's out there so far, I think there's a distinct possibility that this may never get to trial. Unfortunately IMO.

That part is true. I do hate that for her. She has the stress of Trayvon dying and the media circus. Can't be easy.

I don't think you would say that if you had to worry about a break-in every time you went to work. You don't live in a high-crime neighborhood. It isn't stalking when someone is watching to make sure you don't steal something. It is a sad fact of life.
Go look at the prom pics again. Most of the ones with whitey are in a nice park, everybody looks happy, they are clear and bright. I didn't post most of those because they look like the prom pics we all have. Not everybody lives like that.
I'll concede that I can't relate to much of how some of those people live but I do have a sense of right & wrong.
