I think that the prosecution is successfully showing, via George's own words in his NE911 call to report Trayvon + his taped police interview + his written statement, that George Zimmerman profiled Trayvon Martin as a criminal based primarily on his previous experiences and his state of mind.

George told the NE911 operator that Trayvon was a "real suspicious guy" and that "these assholes always get away". He also told officer Singleton in his taped interview on the night of the incident that "they always get away".

George used "suspect" in reference to Trayvon throughout his written statement; Officer Singleton confirmed that it was George's word, not something she introduced into the narrative.

Trayvon wasn't one of "they", he wasn't breaking into a house, nor was he from the area. But, George had his mind made up that Trayvon was out to commit a crime when he followed him that night, IMO.

I'm convinced that Zimmerman did indeed profile Trayvon and chose to follow Trayvon rather than risk another one getting away, even though the Neighborhood Watch Police Liaison and the President of the Twin Lakes HOA both testified earlier that it was made clear to George and all Neighborhood Watch participants that they were not to follow people they considered suspicious.

Still, profiling Trayvon and following Trayvon are not crimes and don't show that George wasn't acting in self defense.

Detective Serino is a key witness for the state. He may be testifying today. Interested to see if he's able to connect more dots in support of the prosecution's theory. They've still got a long way to go to make their case, in my opinion.

Aha! One of the cops who interviewed George couldn't even tell he had been beaten 5 hrs. earlier! George had to point out where he had been hit.

Some cops are thinking of donuts and coffee and if it's been a while since they had some their judgement is impaired.

But on a more serious note IMO the civil trial against Z has already been proven that Z was 90% the contributing cause to T's death. I see a verdict of manslaughter and a sentence of 2-5 years in the criminal trial.

The cop questioning George after the shooting is incredulous that George is part of NW yet doesn't know the name of the street. Heh Heh...unfortunately poor George cannot explain that other than to say he has a bad memory. Even after three years of being on those streets.
I'm glad all these statements are coming in. It gives the State more to work with during closing arguments. And George's fucked up mindset that Trayvon was just one more Black kid wanting to victimize his neighborhood. The best is yet to come, I hope. The one where Serino walks George thru the NE911 call. That's where George suddenly looses his memory and starts whispering that he can't remember.

Yes! Here we go!

The cop asked (in reference to a car sound) is that you getting out of your car? George replies, yes. Cop says, that's not fear.

Bwahaha! George said, I wasn't following him, I was just going in the same direction. The cop snickered.

This shit is great!
Isn't it at the discretion of the defense to call Z as a witness and if they feel that the prosecution hasn't made a convincing argument for conviction he won't appear on the stand?

I am surprised that Z said anything to the cops after the shooting. We were taught that if we ever did have to use our weapon it becomes a case of Shoot, shut up and call your lawyer.
We were told that most people, after killing someone, will be very confused and emotional and the mistakes you make when giving a statement right after a shooting can come back to bite you in the arse.
Oops double post

I have been reading forever how the State wouldn't enter these statements into evidence because that would force GZ to take the stand. I never bought into it. I have always thought that having George's statements entered into evidence may force GZ to take the stand. But, of course he doesn't have to testify. But, he just may need to after this. And we haven't even gotten to the forensics.

My biggest concern was that after the State finished, then the defense would file a motion to dismiss, the judge would deny it, and the defense would say they were not going to present any witnesses, and have it sent to the jury.

As it stands now, the State is forcing the defense to present a case. Despite O'Mara and his "...couldn't it have beens..." on cross.

It sure would have been a much different investigation. That's for sure. It just goes to show how delusional George is, thinking that he could talk his way out of criminal charges. It just doesn't work that way. Ya never talk to the detectives. There is no benefit in that. Thank god George is dumbass!

But that isn't stopping many Zim haters from believing it was a crime . . . and because fatty profiled and followed . . . he must be guilty of murder.

It's not the profiling that bugs the Skittles support group; it's the racial component that turns them into a lynch mob against tubby.

Bummer they couldn't get this to be deemed a Hate Crime.

Or found one of Paula Deen's cookbooks in his truck next to his Klan hoodie.

Maybe that picture of Mark Furman in his wallet . . .

I love hatin' on George, love it. 19

I don't think this is murder & I don't believe it was racially motivated. I think George's gun gave him balls that he wouldn't have had without it and I believe he was a pussy who used the gun instead of fighting with his fists, fight a fight that I think he initiated.
I'm really not a Z hater. I just thought he should be arrested and charged. That the SYG law did not take the victim's rights away. And, the courts are where SYG should be decided. Of course, George decided not try for a dismissal based on SYG, and here we are.

O'Mara motion to dismiss will be a great read I am sure. As will Judge Nelson's *denied*

And I'm still waiting to see how O'Mara tries to slip in the immunity motion into the motion to dismiss.
This case actually cost us here in Iowa. We were just about to have our own SYG laws voted on and it looked like we would have had enough votes to get it passed, then this happened and all the ney sayers started screaming SEE We told you this would happen. SYG was then voted down.
I'm sure posting Zimmerman's private information today was just an accident by the prosecution.

Way to go dumbasses!
What are talking bout Jimbo? I must have missed it.
