That's a real Monday downer.

Hazard of the job and all, but it still sucks. At least you provide a measure of comfort during the final period for them. When my father passed, the 24 hour aides were an enormous help to my mom and my family.
Freakin A I am TIRED.....ugh.
You're right, Jim. Didn't mean to be a Monday downer.

Just a little tired and reflective right now. And, honestly, selfish. It's really important to me to spend more than just a day or two with my family over the holidays, no matter what. None of us are gettin' any younger, obviously. I mostly conduct client and caregiver communication by phone and business ops by remote login again; effectively done from So Cal as well.

It just kinda sucks when I'd rather be fully engaged with my family (not that I don't care about the families back in SF). There are days/nights when I mostly get a few things done and then fuck around a lot in waiting. Other times, straight-up slammed. It's mostly unpredictable. Just kinda wishin' some of the slammed days/nights weren't certain to be during the holidays.

I'm sending this to myself right now:

It's a nice day today and I've got a lot to give thanks for. This concludes the whine fest. Let's mock...
I understand, it does suck... when a business is your own, you never leave it.

On the bright side, your state has really shown itself to be super-friendly to business!

My city, in particular, is the epitome of business-friendly!

You're gonna make me start whining again... hah
Now with the super-majority there, CA is doomed.

In all seriousness, do you have a plan to leave? The economic climate is likely to get much worse there.

I'm extra silly these days because I have really big serious decisions to make; it's my coping mechanism.

I'm not doing everything that I should be doing to make sure that I have solid what-if scenarios defined in order to make the best possible decisions for my future. Seriously need to kick my own ass - which I promise to do starting on Wed (have some meetings set that will help put more clarity/numbers around some of the factors involved). It's not a dire situation, but it could get to be if I don't act wisely soon.

I think my best immdediate option is to throw on my boots and hat and jump in the truck for a cross-country road trip. Gotta be able to sneak up and sidle in on some unsuspecting family with a pond view and a patio that would easily fit my Coleman all-weather tent and gas grill comfortably. A little outdoor living for a month or two, at the most, to help put things in focus. Sadly, I hear that there are fences being installed around the best of such digs and that kinda cooks my goose on that plan.

Could someone try to respond to the Elmo thread in the crime forum & tell me if you get an error message? Thanks!

Only around the perimeter of the pond, the rest of the property is fence-free. I like the open look.

You can camp out under the pergola if you want, or you'd be welcome in the guest room. It gets pretty cold on those patio bricks you know...

Yep, quote/reply is broken on Elmo.

On first try, my reply didn't post. Just sat there.

When I hit, "post reply" the second time I got the error message.
Vindication.

You're still a retard for stealing a blind dog.

Well if I'm invited and there's no craftiness or risk involved, I'm stayin' in sunny California. It never rains here, you know? Smiley_emoticons_smile
The only thing I can think of is the system is allowing subject lines to be extra lengthy but not allowing us to reply. I'd have to count the characters and spaces in his subject line to verify that.

At least I didn't marry one.

Wow, a reference to one of my very favorite literary characters.

It's a "true man" that can read us Golightly-types like a book. 116

Hey, let's leave Mrs. Petraeus out of this.

Did you catch the very backhanded compliment in there? Smiley_emoticons_wink

User didn't steal that dog, she saved it from certain death.

Thanks for trying to post in that thread, everyone. I think the mystery is solved.
