Okay, I need to get into the office and update the books. I swore I'd do it since no one is there for the holiday. Having trouble pulling myself away from here this morning, but now's the time as I have a strong sense that you will be adding to one of your super cool nude threads shortly and then I'd never be able to tear my self away. Awink
If I didn't know you better I might think you were being sarcastic.

My ass is draggin'. *yawn*
For the record, and once & for all..I do NOT like iced tea..and no one will ever make me drink it.

I sure hope Duchess isn't a reptile.
This truly IS boring drivel, so feel free to scroll on by.

We went up to the cabin we've been remodeling for 2+ years. I've posted before but it was a run down shack and we pretty much took it down and had it rebuilt. I have been almost entirely uninvolved. I haven't visited the place since the remodel started. My husband has done most of the work picking and choosing materials online with only 2 or 3 visits during the work. We had an architect help design it.

Driving up there, I understood what people coming home to a "complete home makeover" experience. I had no idea what to expect.

For the most part, stunning!! The granite, hardwood floors, slate floors, tile showers and paint all came together. My husband bought chocolate brown leather couches, a recliner, dining room table and chairs that are absolutely perfect. All of the hardware is oil rubbed bronze with several oil rubbed bronze lights outside and beautiful light fixtures (fans and chandelier inside). I practically squeeled when I discovered he'd put a ledge in the m.b. shower so I can shave my legs. We added a big back deck and expanded the front so we can entertain on both. I got a nice, stainless steel 4 burner gas range with a broiler and oven. Loves it.

The few misses (and I haven't even told my husband about this because he put SO much work in to the place--maybe later). The biggest (and I blame myself for not looking at the plans closely enough) is the kitchen sink and range face a blank wall with the windows behind you! While there's some chopping room on the window side, most people chop near the sink/stove etc. Grrrr, bugs a cook. The second is, while the kitchen has tons of storage, there's only 1 drawer (although there are a couple of pull out shelves). Still, at least 3-4 drawers would have been optimal. Finally, there's not really a convenient tall closet in the kitchen or laundry room to store brooms, mops, etc.

2 queen bedrooms, the king master suite and 1 twin bunk room plus two full baths. Smiley_emoticons_hurra3 It's SO much better than it was, I can live with the "oops".

Also, we're having problems finding any way to get internet up there. 52

I'll post a few pics later.

Part 2: my week. Drove from the bay area to Pinecrest on Sunday. On Tuesday, drove to Coarsegold, CA. Next day, back to Pinecrest and then today, home. On Saturday I get the pleasure of driving to Tehachapi and then back home again on Sunday. Blurg.

The end until I post pics. Smiley_emoticons_smile

Cool, user.

Is that guy old or does he need lotion?

My old, but new friend's husband? I knew her back in middle school and this was the first time I met her husband (he's probably 15 years older than her..just guessing). He's from Tennessee and apparently spent 20+ years in the military and then went to work for the DOD. He comes across as a damn, perverted hillbilly and not the sharpest tool in the shed, but for the life of me, I couldn't get him to tell me what he did for the DOD. Not for lack of trying. He was like, "I don't talk about it" and I said "cool, so what did you do?". Unfortunately, he didn't budge on the subject. Hrumph.
