I actually just finished Steven Avery 2
nd season , just astounding how many people are behind bars that are wrongfully convicted . I see this case no differently , the REAL killers are still out there .. So when I started looking back on here I just see so many missed facts . but its amazing to me how much info is uncovered on this mock forum . I know somewhere there is a detective out here reading these and I hope one day they will keep this an actively opened case until the victim families can finally rest ...... I'm hoping the police will get to the bottom of it , if all else fails I'm waiting for a perp DNA to hit in the system ...
Question : if this case is considered a cold case , or not solved does it remain open in the system ? The DNA that were recovered from the scene is there any chance that if one day someone gets their DNA taken and its scanned will it ping to the murder case ??

I'm not sure how cold cases are handled but I have read on more than one occasion of cold cases being reopened so given the phrasing of that it makes me think some do get closed.
Regarding the DNA, I absolutely think that one day there could be a specific hit. We sometimes hear of that happening in old cases and I think there may even be cases of exactly that in the Crime Forum here in Mock.

I think about Johnny and Lisa's case every single day and I wonder how many more years need to go by before every piece of evidence is actually looked at without a biased eye. The truth is all there just like a jigsaw puzzle. It is Detective's job to accurately piece everything together in order to find out what happened and hopefully arrest all whom are involved. This case was tainted from the very first 9-11 calls which I believe are staged. Then the Clarkes immediately began pointing the finger at Tiff and others, The Clarkes did their best to continually guide Detective's down empty paths...which wasted a lot of time.
I want to just throw this out there for all to think about. Sam Williams and Cameo Pettaway were both arrested based on their DNA which was found on a discarded cigarette butt inside of the Straubs home. Williams is in prison and Pettaway was set free. Williams was convicted because of the testimony from the jail house snitch Erik Yingling. Yingling's testimony did produce any new revelations about this case. All of the information that Yingling had testified could have easily been obtained online or from the media. The "funny money" which Erik said that Sam told him about which looked like monopoly money.. The sound of the bag crinkling as Lisa was gasping for her last breath and so on. The snitch also testified that Sam Williams told him that Cameo had killed Lisa...and then While Sam and Cameo were smoking a cigarette that another man named "Eric Taylor" was inside killing Johnny. Well, cops did question Eric Taylor and took his DNA and cleared him of any involvement. So if the state is correct in their theory on the killings based on a jail house snitch...then Eric Taylor as well as Cameo should be behind bars. You can't have it both ways. I think that the state got tunnel vision and took their eyes off the facts which could have lead them to the truth.
BTW- according to Sam Williams dockets...the snitch, Erik Yingling tried to recant his testimony. The Clarkes know the real truth.

I totally 100 percent agree with everything you have said . and yes he has try to re cant his statement , but when i looked through sams old dockets I believe somewhere in there from sams first lawyer did get the message from yingling wanting to,recant but they were unable to find his where abouts . and i totally agree with the clarkes knowing exactly what happened , and yes I did see above that someone mentioned that the detective who first Arrived on the scene did sign a notarized paper saying that maytee and her mother were arguing in Spanish in front of police cam about they know who,did it and to tell the police . i do,remember seeing that . such a tragedy what happened to them , I mainly feel so much sympathy towards the straubs they are the real victims . I believe the Clarke's set them up , they owed people money , their cubans . they have connections to the drug world. and I truly think they thought the straubs had money. It went terribly wrong somewhere , But because the suspects were unable to find anything I believe they left them there to die hence why the wallet was on johnny , that is a sign of,pay up in the drug world. I know for a fact the John and Maytee Clarke immediately began talking about the wallet being some sort of "sign or message". Really?...could this just be an elaborate way to throw cops off. The wallet itself should weigh a lot in the evidence room as well as the Clarkes very first statement to Lisa's uncle "did they get away with the safe? Do you know if they got the safe?" As Johnny and Lisa laid dead inside of the Straubs home. I believe that the Clarkes are trying to quiet everyone that knows something about that night which could have them charged. That's why they targeted Zach Burkett, Tiff Williams, Alex Cousino, Destiny, Cameo Sam...and others. The Clarkes should be looked at for many crimes which they have seemed to get away with so far. The Clarkes always seem to be a step ahead of police because they use young thugs to commit the crimes and then turn on them with threats towards their family members.
So every now and then I kind of review the case and see what type of craziness Maytee and big John are cookin up. But anyways, looks like the Straubs are selling their house....idk if that’s too “sensitive” of info to post here, if so, please delete.
They stayed in their home a long time after the murders. Whenever I give them any thought my immediate one is of how dignified they were. OTD's granddaughter was friends with Lisa & her sister and she often remarked about what a nice family they all were. What a nightmare all this must have been and then add Maytee's bullshit to the mix. Jesus. I hope Lisa's family has been able to find some kind of peace in the past 8 years.

I also remember, either OTD or Mustang saying they (at the time) don’t think straubs would move because it was basically their dream house. How hard it must be to live in that house knowing what happened, and the fact that not everyone responsible is actually being held responsible. I feel for Lisa’s sister as well. If any of them happen to read this they should know that there a some of us who keep them in our hearts. That sounds so corny but idc.

I have thought about this case off an on for 3 years Ive been gone from Mock. It haunts me. Even when I didnt log in here to get updates, I would still google to see any updates. I dont know that Ill ever get over this case. Its what actually brought me to mock all that time ago.
I cant wait until whatever hold Maytee has on people involved is resolved or people no longer fear her or her ties to whatever keeps them scared to talk, and they start talking...loudly. Still kind of suspicious of AC....not to the point that I think she was there when they were killed, but that she definitely knows more than what she’s let on. Definitely still think Maytee & big John are involved, that hasn’t changed.

It's been 9 years since these murders. Nine years. Damn. I remember how interested people were in it, and not only from that community, the interest was far and wide. Every now & then I see lurkers reading it, but not like they were in the early days, even the cops & reporters were reading it. LC loved being in the thick of it.
...and then there's Maytee, some of you will remember her.
Lisa and Johnny’s case has been on my mind more often lately than usual. Bothers me how many loose ends there are here.

It's an efficient way to kill someone without alerting neighbors or making a bloody mess, so yeah, the perps were not run-of-the-mill drug thugs.
I'm not going to read this entire thread, but right off the bat I would say that the parents were caught up in some heavy duty shit, possibly an organized crime syndicate. Did the police tap the parents' phones to find out who they were dealing with?
