Do Toledo Law Enforcement Agencies hire out of town counterparts to
assist in unsolved murders? The reason I ask is that NYPD seems
to have a great track record in solving unusual crimes. The perps
of the rapper shot two weeks ago are behind bars already and
supposedly there was no evidence. I could go on and on with
examples and below is today's. These guys must be very very
good at discovery. Unfortunately they have a thousand times the
experience.

Kitty1, IMADick great info about the body temp and pronunciation of death.
It also explains to me why when a friend of mine passed, the police would
not even come. The family had to find a physician to
visit to pronounce the person dead before the ME would come. Granted this
is a different city, and the deceased was terminally ill, but your example and
my experience explain that there is indeed strict protocol surrounding a dead
body.
A question for your insights.
Do you think it is possible that the individuals who found the bodies could have
staged some of the damage in the home to add confusion to the scene?
We know there were at least three people at the scene before LE arrived.
WolfHouse, an individual/s could have done a lot of damage just to throw the Detectives off - trying to make it look like a robbery, I am really baffled by the KEY - if it was placed under Lisa - WHY? more tampering to make it look like a robbery - a thief just doesn't stand around and do all this. WH have you got an opinion? Thanks.
The "key" was placed as IMO, for a few reasons. One might be a key the intruders found, in the days previous, or were given to , by the victims, to keep the robbers at bay! To possibly buy more time, if there was in fact no safe. Also it was put under LS as a big FY to others who knew about the case , possiblly a small inner circle of people, possibly good friends, as it would come out in the media. A kind of catch me if you can, hidden message to show who did it!

WolfHouse, another good article! I still have FAITH in LE locally and the Great State of Ohio - it only takes one Master Detective to nail this monster/s. Haste makes waste! Everything may be pointing in the direction of TW and her crew - but, what if it isn't them. I wish LE would make an arrest for both families sake - it has to be hell on them. EastcoastKat warned we might be surprised!
Also if the cell phones were scattered about in pieces. IMO, was done for only one reason, to erase the call logs on the phones physically. Which stands corrected about how this crime was done by someone who was talking on the phone to them. Also very naive young people, twenties age group, who needed a good lick! A score with cash money, since the intruders were acting on pure greed!

It would have been much simpler and way more efficient to just take the phones with them if all they wanted was to eliminate the call logs.
The killers never thought about call logs, they disabled the phones so no one could call for help, or because they got pissed when the phone kept ringing.
Yes your right about that buddy, butvto take a cellphone with you would also create my evidence, if phone was found. Also it could be pinged later down the road, also could of had active gps on it too

That is very possible as well, but I don't think it's very logical to hide it in her parents room in the wall. This JC , IMO, didn't have enough drugs on him or at LS house to even think twice of committing a crime like this! Where is the robbers advantage here?
No way LC, I'm not buying it. It's people that are from the area, but my question is , How does anyone know for sure that JC picked up LS from work alone, maybe, someone was following them?

it seems that many "leads" provided to LE (the alphabet soup of initials) are not the high-profile suspects that they are accused of being/ assumed to be. that's all i'm saying. other than perhaps LE has to look further afield than the "usual suspects".

but i think we should all look outside our narrow frame of reference to consider possibilities. it's not always the "obvious".

me neither. If LE
isn't focused on any of the alphabet soup of characters then they are wasting their time.
Being from the area, I have heard the MAIN suspect is in jail for unrelated charges. At the same time, I have also heard from people living near the Straubs that they feel the case is dead. Some neighbors thought an arrest had already been made. Shows you how close they're paying attention.

It could be a diversion used by LE, who might be watching this thread, knowing the killers are too. That way we don't stray the killers, from using some good info after the fact of the murders. Like all the possibilities being said, one or many being true.

With this in mind, one of the Straub's neighbors would be my guess! They may of been familiar enough with the family to have heard they were expected to leave town, and they would of been someone that the victims could of recognized, as many of us suspect, is why this turned from robbery to homicide. It would also explain how the murderer could of arrived and left the scene, without need of a vehicle since they live nearby, and it might explain where the duct tape came from.
On another note, when Mr.Verbosky said there was an alarm, but it was deactivated, I do not think he meant just that night- I think that the alarm system was not in service at all, if it were in service, why would the Straub's want the kids to house sit while they were gone? Alarms are extremely effective for securing a home, and unless they had pets that needed tending to in their absence, there would be no need to have anyone come to your home. The only pet that has been mentioned thus far, is JC and LS's pet Gotti, which they brought to the home with them, unless I have that wrong.
It is my understanding that Johnny and Lisa were living in the home. And had been since Lisa moved out of her apartment in Dec 2010.
