i want to know who the people who don't need cops call when they are robbed at gunpoint or beaten or raped.
Very well put. It is too bad that my criticism of a particular law officer's unprofessional remarks, and my concern over a fear that this particular police department may be in over their heads, has instead been turned into a rant against law enforcement. That was not my intention, and not something I would agree with.
I too have friends who are criminal defense attorneys, and I consider the attribution made to them to be pure bullshit. Except for the greenhorn lawyers who are picking up scraps, more experienced criminal defense attorneys have a healthy respect for the experienced cops they encounter and vice versa.
That's the real world, folks.
The rant is undoubtedly due to the fact that the system is insulated from criticism. After all, they have the authority to lock you up on 'suspicion' that you committed a crime. And if the authorities are wrong? Well it isn't like any other profession where they would be sued for malpractice. Can you imagine LE being held to the same standards physicians are? It's laughable. 90% of LE would be out on the streets looking for honest work.
And I did not say the attribution was made to your friends who are criminal defense attorneys; the attribution is made to one of the two whom I know. I can't control what comes out of their mouths, but the individual who said it is a $350 an hour attorney with a thriving practice reputed to be the best in a geographical location and who holds a Juris Doctorate degree. He has seen more than his fair share of innocent lives destroyed because LE was on the wrong track from the beginning...cases brought on no evidence, etc. It does happen and you are an idiot with a fool for a counsel if you do not think it happens.

and p.s.: though i haven't been actively involved, i have been following you all since day one, and i've been hooked as well, so...
Great question. I swear, I was just thinking the same thing today.
I believe the answer is...
After the killers are caught, we will keep the thread going through the trial/convictions and have much to say about all the evidence and answers to the questions we have been asking.
If the killers aren't caught, I guess the friendships on here will be the strongest of our lives as we will all end up looking like :wheelchair: together (on our computers in our insane asylums).

I just find it hard to believe that in this modern age, day and time the killer(s) will NOT be caught but here we are several weeks out and you have billboards going up...tells me LE is at loose ends.

I just dont see how someone could kill for the first time, this way.
This is someone with the stomach for torture etc. Blood lust so to speak.
Yea I agree. Does anyone know if autopsy reports are public if so where to see it? I sorta feel bad for being so nosey about a case like this when the families are in such devistation, but the way this murder happened and it being so long after with no word on suspects or progress my curiosity is getting the better of me. I guess it doesn't help that they can read I'm being nosey lol I think it must be more of me feeling guilty then sad. SMH
Only the preliminary autopsy results have been released, but I havent been
able to find it. Someone said the rest (the final report) will probably be
sealed until trial.
I know this is probbaly really dumb considering my only resource is tv haha but I thought in cases like this where there might be DNA or evidence on the bodies that the bodies couldnt be released for burrial until the reports were all back.
You would have to assume local LE did everything they could have done/should have done regarding DNA. Unless the FBI was in on it from the beginning, DNA evidence undoubtedly was compromised or simply not found. The crime scene was contaminated with Johnny's uncle but there obviously was no other choice there. And of course, the uncle didn't do it intentionally.

so this may make me unpopular here and is totally worthless in relation to the discussion of finding justice, but i have been following this since the beginning, and at this point i am very curious to what your answers might be to my question: what are you all going to do when this is "over"? and at what point will it be "over"?
.....
I post at a few different forums and rarely on a murder thread. I followed the Smiley Face killer story on two long threads and it drove me nuts. It's a fascinating story and never has been solved.
Mock has a lot more than crime on it, though I'm new (arrived because of this thread) and haven't participated much.
As for friendships made here, I think my name may be mud because I started a thread on bad LE. Call me comprehensive - or dumb!
Or call you insightful beyond your years. People assume LE never breaks the law, has the citizen's best interests at heart and is a friend to every law-abiding citizen. People assume firefighters never are arsonists. People assume teachers are never pedophiles.
Let it be known that if anyone thinks/in visions that I'm gay, I'd like to be considered a hot lipstick lesbian and not a bull dyke, k?

Duly noted.
