I can see it now...Toldeo: Living in a Gangtas Paradise
Sorry, couldn't resist
Ok I want to clear up what everybody sees on the facebook pages. Its called hip hop style. Its a style. Flat billed hat big sweatpants and such. Doesn't mean your a gangster or a criminal. Its a style. Most city kids dress like that. Though some of the people on the pages might very well be criminals I'm sure that all of them aren't. My husband dresses and talks like that. He's not a gangster or a criminal. He's just a guy who grew up in a mixed culture. He's not a poser either. This is urban not suburb crap.
Most people have no idea of the genesis of that which they emulate. The hats came from baseball. Hip-hop came from the ghetto. Baggy pants falling off the body came from prison culture.
Lets see... If I had a young daughter, would she be listening to Miley Cyrus and and watching MTV? Fuck no. I'd take her to the ballet, the symphony and send to her Outward Bound. Which kid would you think would have a better chance at turning out better?

I guess that would depend on your definition of "shithole." If there is a nice part of toledo, I'd love to find it.
Ummm, quite a few. Crossgates area, Heatherdowns area, Beverly area, Harvard Area.
and add Sylvania, Ottawa Hills, Old Orchard, etc.

Its hard work raising decent kids and theres also a lot of luck that goes into it also. I cant judge Lisas family I dont know much about them but the others in this circle obviously didnt have positive role models as parents .

that's interesting!!
Personally, I don't believe that part. I surmise the perps were determined to find the non-existent safe, found that key and then demanded LS show them where the key would fit on the premises. Unfortunately, nowhere. It was likely a storage key. Or maybe a key to her Dad's clothing change locker at work, etc.

I heard that!!
good! I'm finally glad to see someone else remembers "baseball bat" mentioned! (local rumor)

Like when a relative says "My brother's a cop", trying to use power and position to benifit themselves. Does that make any sense?
that's exactly how I felt, when first listening to that 911 call. No one else here thought it odd, though.

Your signiture says:
"Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth"
The dark side of "The Moon" has always remained "hidden" The moon's rotation and and orbit around the earth means its has ALWAYS been hidden, like from the beginning of the cosmos...How long you wanna bet before what you say comes to pass?
zero
hahaha!
Ah, yes, the moon. Some say it's an artificial satellite from an alien past.
Off topic!

a "local" posted a rumor Lisa was hit with a ball bat, but I've heard nothing about Johnny's wallet!
That local was me and it's possible that it is just a rumor as smiles4u stated they live in the neighborhood and I heard that from my parents, also in the neighborhood. Could just be gossip.

So, if someone is expecting to get paid by leaving this "calling card", they're going to have to speak up and correct this misinformation?
LOL - I hope I'm explaining myself clearly!
YES, I understand what you mean! Could be.

I have a feeling that the the most recent post about the key and the number on it being a code for a killer to get paid came RIGHT FROM THIS BOARD. That was posited in the early pages of this thread and everybody and their brother is reading here. Personally, I think it's nonsense.

About ten years ago a group of friends that had just graduated a couple of years before from Bowsher High School (same high school as a lot of these characters) murdered their friend for drugs. Shot him in the back of the head while they were riding in his car and broke all his bones and shoved him in a drain pipe. It took about a year for LE to get the whole case together but they did get a conviction. This was a robbery for drug money. Although, the method of murder is not the same it was still very brutal. I don't remember all the reports but I believe they also poured gasoline or acid on him. However, contrary to what several people want to harp on. Toledo is not a shithole filled in drug dealing criminals. We have problems like any other big city. (we are not a tiny honkey tonk town) But Toledo is not a shithole.
I agree Toledo is not a shithole but it is cheap to live there and not a lot of jobs so therefore there are a lot of people like this. I am originally from lima, hour south of toledo
And my bf from toledo and we left both because there is not a lot of jobs. I've always said toledo is a bigger lima...low income and drug infested in some areas. I now live in a columbus suburb...single mother college graduate that works 2 full time jobs to make sure my 16 year old son see a better way than being a dope dealer making fast money.... but even in the suburbs u see the drugs. Its different though...pills and weed is what they are into. Pill addiction is big and these kids have the money to spend. That is why lisa gets mixed up with TW because they have that in common and the only thing that separates them in the neighborhoods they grew up in. I believe lisa was on this path prior to ever meeting JC so u can't blame him for her addiction...my opinion only.
No one ever said that Lisa was addicted to anything?
I just listened to the 911 tapes again and from what maytee states in the second call it was 30 minutes since she got the call about jc and ls .. how did she get emergency help for herself and have time to drive to lisas house with the cousin in 30 minutes?
(02-25-2011, 02:18 AM)kitty1 Wrote: [ -> ]I think that is certainly a possibility. I believe, however, that this was much more personal. It just seems too hard core for a drug deal gone bad. IMO I think that JC was dealing drugs but I don't think that he was a "big time" dealer. I believe he was a small fish and wasn't flipping hundreds of thousands of dollars or even tens of thousands. I know that people have been killed over a $20 drug debt but I don't think someone(no matter how gansta) would kill in this manner for a $500 or even a $1,000 debt. I believe the guy that he snitched on a few years back sought revenge. I think that the crowd JC associated with (or more importantly used to associate with) view snitching as the ultimate betrayal. I think torturing and killing Lisa in front of JC was the ultimate revenge. IMO the perps chose what they felt would be the most physically and emotionally painful method of revenge and death. I think their plan was, of course, based on what they felt they could get away with at the time. JMO
your post gave me the chills! Reminds of how Joe Pesci's character in the movie "Casino", was made to watch his brother being beaten w/a baseball bat, ugh
