Born & raised in TN, & still here. If you've never seen dirt being put on a casket, here, then you never stuck around, because they will do it in front of the family, UNLESS the family specifically requests otherwise..

Same here but the local funeral home (and our county borders TN) will always ask the family if the family wants to bury their loved one. I don't think I ever have--I do not remember it--but for years, our family would hand dig the graves. I distinctly remember that growing up. The family burial plot is several acres large with probably a couple hundred family members interred there, high on a hill surrounded by trees and looking out onto a mountain range. I have often thought it would be the sweetest spot ever for a homesite. Growing up, the only way to access the burial site was to walk it or hook up the horses and take a sled ride to the top. Now you can make it to the top but you must have a 4WD. The access road to the cemetery is probably a quarter of a mile.
WOW! I bet thats beautiful!!!!

that was my first post in starting this thread. it made me want to cry too. i've seen too many people receive terrible news and it's always gut-wrenching. i once heard a mom screaming from 2 blocks away. it just tore out my heart.
There is just no way anyone can prepare for the shock of the loss of someone so young and so full of energy. It's surreal when it happens. And for a double homicide to occur is even more devastating. After all, Lisa was part of Maytee's family too at this point in time.
brings up to many memories! Poor Maytee!
LC, I dont know how u did it! Ur a good one! Id be so upset seeing/telling a parent they have lost a loved one let alone their CHILD! It would tare me apart! It definitly takes a special person to be a cop/emt/firefighter!
I feel like this case lost media attention when people started speculating that Johnny was involved in drugs. None of which has been proven to me at this point. It seems to me that when things like this happen people get judgemental and start acting like they don't care or like they deserved it. Like when a prostitute is killed. Which wasn't helped by the last comments made by LE making it sound like they deserved it. That is just wrong and doesn't help to get this solved. This was still someones son/daughter,sister, brother and friend. Plus none of this has been proven. Baggies mean nothing. They could have just smoked weed. Corner of baggie = a nickel of weed.Digital scale could have also been used to make sure they weren't getting a "tight" sack. I think that is why Nancy Grace stopped talking about it. She has judged and decided that its not worth her attention. I also think that the comments made by LE at the springfield township meeting was to get pressure off of them and to make their suburban residents feel safe.Even if its not true.
