I am not sure MOM has the capcity to care about a good seed, Lisa, paying "the price" in this mess. Everything about her seems self centered and the effect her poor choices in life have had on her son seem are far from her review.

We've always had an alarm system - we've always used said alarm system. We've always locked our doors. Pinky - your 'theory' is a pretty bad theory. You keep saying that it has not been proven wrong, but neither have any other theories. Right now, your theory makes the least amount of sense. I doubt a 21 year old was in deep enough shit to have someone call in a professional hit from a big city, and then saying that they are sitting on a beach somewhere now - this kind of stuff doesn't happen in Toledo. I also think it is you who has said a few times that no one in Toledo can keep a secret, so if there was any info it would have been leaked; I doubt that. Just because no info has been leaked does not mean that LE has no info. And to say that this case has been put into "long-term storage" already is ignorant. It was a close family member (I believe) who said that Mr. Z was scheduled for a poly test tomorrow. They just did a search warrant on Thursday and got some more evidence/DNA. It hasn't even been a WEEK yet. They are still gathering facts and interviewing people. Your theory makes absolutely 0 sense.

One yes a family member that is on Lisa's side has confirmed that it was a very, violent crime scene with evidence of a massive struggle and infact, YES a great deal of DNA has been collected, A Lot from Lisa's body alone. It is my real and not imagined knowledge from that family member that the likelihood is that this was pre-meditated, the perps were known and it was indeed personal. I also notice all the comments regarding the lack of statement from Lisa's family, this is not true. Her uncle has been on local and national news and was on Nancy Grace on Friday night speaking on behalf of the Straub family. Her parents are handling this in a way much different from the Clarke's because they are more focused on their daughter's loss and ensuring that their opinions, accusations or statements do not interfere with the LE investigation. Whereas not to be cruel to a woman in grief, all JC's moms ranting appears a little more self-serving than supportive of LE and the investigation. The Straub family are very kind and educated people who realize it is better to stay quiet and let LE do their job. LS's uncle was chosen to speak because he has been the Rossford Fire Chief for 12 years and is familiar with and respective of the investigation process. So her family has not remained quiet, they have just handled it in a prudent and respectful manner. They respect and have trust in LE and are confident this case will be solved. They have done the right thing, fully cooperated with police and instead of trying to get publicity for their pain, remained silent and cooperative in ensuring that the killer(S) of these two young people be brought to justice. Lisa's family is very loving and are great people, I feel that needed to be stated due to the many inquiries into "where they are".... when in fact, her uncle Jim Verbosky has been all over the media trying to do everything in his power to catch these evil criminals.

One other point I'd like to make: again, although I do not know the victims or their families, it’s my opinion that no one deserved to suffer what happened to them – especially kids with their lives ahead of them. I’ve not ever committed a felony or even a misdemeanor, but I was not raised by a mother with a lengthy record herself. That does not excuse criminal conduct, but nor does it devalue an individual’s worth to the point of suggesting that John or Lisa will not be missed or this terrible crime will disappear quickly from memory -- that strikes me as needlessly malicious.

If the alarm was messed with before the incident (wires cut) wouldn't the alarm company or police know this and send someone to the house? It just seems like common sense to me.

The fake crying. The attention-seeking behavior. The weird over-reacting 911 calls. I'm suspicious of her odd behavior. I don't know if she was directly involved or not, but I believe she knows a lot more about what happened to her son than she is letting on.

Brett, thank you for the insights about the neighborhood. IMO, the type of people that Johnny hung around with may have viewed this as a "rich" neighborhood. Rich is relative. If the assertions about a safe are correct and if Johnny's acquaintances got wind of it, they may thought there was something there worth stealing.

No way would I think that the people of the neighborhood wouldn't be unnerved by such a terrible event. Just the thought of these psychopaths having been in their vicinity would shatter any sense of safety.

Truman Capote wrote "In Cold Blood" a book later made into a movie with Robert Blake as one of the killers, who heard of a family that had money hidden away in their home. He heard this inviting romour while he was an inmate in prison and later executed all of the members of peaceful hardworking family in something that was only gonna be a "robbery". I think this crime here in Ohio is more sinister and personal but no less intrigued by its circumstances as it unfolds.
